OCEAN LIFE

Intimations of Death and Rebirth.
Composed in the winter of 1993.

Battered, frayed, and of no real significance.
I rest here alone, adopted by this trance,
This earthly dance.
Time moves, yet there is no sound,
Life grows, I feel it
All around.
The spirit moving, aiming, directing me forward.
Patterns evolving, all life revolving,
Ever onward.
Rushing, speeding, soaring by,
I feel a breath of the fire,
Circling round, and further away
Onward, ever higher.
The peak! The end, the culmination
I see before me,
But wait! There is no end,
Is this not the beginning I see?
I know this place, I am unafraid.
I've rested here before,
I look around, so sure I know,
I recognise the door.
From whence did I come, to feel such familiarity here.
Memories hazed,
Misted by time,
Something is near.
Of course! The door will lead me back!
I realise with Mirth.
A laughter stirs my inner core,
I'm ready now
For birth.

Composed in the winter of 1993, First published in October 1996 in 'Quiet moments' by the International Library of poetry, Bouhran Franz. The author also recieved nomination for international Poet of the year 1997 in Washington DC in August 1997, from this poem.
