Ode to Spirit.
composed in Spring 1991

The peaceful, tranquil, morning air,
Brings feelings of new strength to me.
A feeling that I surely share,
With birds who sing so free.

The water babbles in the brook,
As o'er stones and rock she falls,
And beckons me to take a look,
Within, where mystery enthralls.

The beauty, still around us, lies,
Refreshed by mornings light,
And yet still there, I realise,
When shrouded by the night.

Oh light of lights, within my heart,
Shine forth that I may see.
In darkness, life does not depart,
The spirit dances free.

Lines written in early spring 1991, after hearing the brook within the darkness of night, the Author pondered its presence in darkness as in light.
