Leannan
Written in Autumn 1997

Her hair, sometimes holds the raven’s hue, and yet,
Beneath the sun, I view, such Autumn shades
Reflected there.
Her eyes of green, thó sometimes brown, can pierce
My skin and touch my soul, and there belie,
Such love as is inside of me.
And how she loves, my summer queen.
So rich am I in loves repast.
No Sultan could, in wealth, compare,
The riches she bestows.
Such passion raises she in I, such radiance she brings.
With gentle hand, and tender kiss, so sanctified,
In love am I.
Her softened words and gentle eye,
Fall sweetly on me as I lie.
My very soul is lifted free,
Resplendant in her love.
O winds of change, which blow through life,
Pray pass me by this while.
And look not back upon my love,
But leave me in her smile.

Lines composed in the Autumn of 1997 at Chy~an Bran, during international Poetry week, for his wife and Best Friend Leannan.
