Sonnet to a Snowflake
composed in Winter 1995

Oh precious sweet beloved friend,
My thoughts so warm within me lay,
Of moments shared before this day,
So brief and yet, not prone to bend,
Let loves first kiss not seek and end.
But rest within this heart I pray,
And through a lengthened journey stay,
That love, to fortunes tend.
Sweet friend, may time itself allow,
This love to lay upon your breast,
And mellow there within your heart,
That bitter words may pass me now,
And harsher tongues be lain to rest.
That love may stay, not yet depart.

Sonnet to a Snowflake Lines written in a forest grove in December 1995,
